Cloud services and migration
Moving to the cloud is easy to start and hard to finish well. The workloads that arrive without a landing zone, a cost model or an owner are the ones that end up costing more than the data centre they left.
We plan, migrate, modernize and run workloads on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud — with the security baseline, delivery pipeline and cost controls in place before the first application moves, so the estate is easier to run afterwards rather than simply somewhere else.
What our cloud teams deliver
Cloud Strategy & Assessment
An inventory of applications and dependencies, a disposition for each one — rehost, replatform, refactor, replace or retire — and a business case built from your own usage rather than a calculator default.
Landing Zones & Foundations
Account and subscription structure, identity, networking, guardrails and logging set up once, as code, so every workload that follows inherits the same baseline.
Migration & Modernization
Workloads moved in planned waves with rehearsed cutovers, and the applications worth more effort rebuilt on containers, serverless and managed databases.
Cloud Data Platforms
Warehouses, lakes and pipelines on managed cloud services — the foundation the analytics and AI work in this practice depends on.
DevOps & Automation
Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and automated environments, so a deployment is a routine event rather than a weekend with a change freeze.
Managed Cloud Operations
Monitoring, patching, backup, incident response and 24/7 support from a team that knows the estate because it built it.
What usually brings a company to this conversation
- A data centre lease or hardware refresh coming due
- A cloud bill that grows faster than the business using it
- Environments that take weeks to provision for a new project
- Workloads spread across clouds with nobody owning the whole
- AI and analytics plans held back by where the data lives
- Security and compliance reviews raising the same findings every year
How a cloud programme runs
Each wave is planned, rehearsed and signed off before it moves, and every wave after the first is quicker because the foundations are already in place.
Assess
Discover the estate, map dependencies and agree a disposition and target platform for every workload.
Design
Target architecture, landing zone, security model and the cost baseline the programme will be measured against.
Build foundations
Identity, networking, guardrails and pipelines deployed as code before any production workload depends on them.
Migrate in waves
Workloads moved in groups with rehearsed cutovers, rollback plans and testing signed off by the business.
Optimize and run
Right-sizing, reserved capacity and ongoing operations, with cost and performance reviewed on a fixed cadence.
What we put in place before anything goes live
Security and spend are hardest to fix once a workload is running, so they are part of the foundations rather than a later phase.
- Single sign-on and least-privilege access for every account
- Encryption at rest and in transit by default
- Centralized logging, alerting and audit trails
- Policy guardrails that block non-compliant resources
- Backup, disaster recovery and tested restore procedures
- Tagging, budgets and cost alerts per team and per environment
- Regular right-sizing and reserved-capacity reviews
- Documented runbooks handed over with every environment
Where we build
- Amazon Web Services
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform
- Hybrid and multi-cloud estates
- Kubernetes and container platforms
- Terraform and native infrastructure as code
The questions every cloud programme has to answer
Which cloud should we choose?
The one that fits the systems, skills and licensing you already have. A Microsoft-heavy estate usually lands well on Azure and a data-led programme often favours Google Cloud, but we assess against your workloads rather than recommend a platform by default.
Should we move everything as it is, or rebuild?
Usually both, workload by workload. Most applications are rehosted or replatformed to get out of the data centre on time, and the few where modernization pays back are rebuilt once they are already running in the cloud.
Will the cloud actually cost less?
Only if it is run differently from the data centre. The savings come from right-sizing, switching off what is idle and paying for capacity in advance, which is why cost controls are part of the foundations rather than an afterthought.
Can you run the environment after migration?
Yes. Managed cloud operations, with monitoring, patching, backup and 24/7 support, can follow the migration directly, or we can hand over to your own team with documented runbooks and training.
